The scrotum is a bag-like structure which lodges the paired testicles hanging under the penis. The reason why this organ system is a structure hanging out of the body is especially for maintaining a lower temperature than the body’s, which is an essential factor for the development of spermatids and spermatozoa. Spermatids and spermatozoa production peaks ideally in low temperature environment.
