Introduction:

The ovarian cycle begins in females after puberty and can continue up to 45 to 55 years of age. The cycle involves a series of changes in the ovarian follicles. These follicles undergo development from a primordial follicle to form a mature vesicular follicle, which finally gets ruptured and degrades into corpus albicans. The events are regulated by the cyclic changes in hormones by the hypothalamus–pituitary–gonadal axis.
