The things that occur in the body when it is in its post-absorptive state with respect to carbohydrate, fat, and (sometimes) protein metabolism.

Introduction:

The post-absorptive state refers to the overnight, late morning, and late afternoon. In this period, our body needs energy because there is a depletion of nutrients in the blood. During this time, the stored energy meets the body’s demands. In a post-absorptive state, the body mobilizes the stored glycogen into the blood and then it enters the cells for providing energy by the glycolysis process.
