The recommended daily intake of carbohydrates; the percentage of calories that come from carbohydrates in a typical U.S diet; the forms in which carbohydrates exist in the diet, and their relative amounts; dietary sources of carbohydrates.

Introduction:

Nutrition is the basis of all life activities, and it is taken care of by the process called metabolism. In metabolism, the raw materials are taken up and undergo the digestive process by breaking down the large molecules into small biomolecules. These small biomolecules are further absorbed by the intestinal cells and provide energy to all living things. Carbohydrates are the major reserve source of energy in humans because it meets most of the energy needs in human body.
