You are given a task to design a cam. The cam are used for feed mechanism in automatic
lathe machine. The motion of the cam follower that you need to design are given as
follows:
(b)
1. Move up 50 mm in 1 second using the harmonic motion
2. Dwell for 0.5 s
3. Move down 50 mm in 1 second using the harmonic motion
4. Dwell for 1 second
The motions of the cam follower then will repeat the same sequences.
(i)
Calculate total time taken for the cam to complete a full circle motion.
(ii)
Calculate the rotational speed of the cam.
(iii) Determine the cam rotation angle for each of the follower motion interval.
(iv)
Construct the follower displacement diagram for this cam
