Testosterone is the male sex hormone. It is significant for the development of reproductive or sexual organs. The hormone belongs to a specific class of androgens which is also called anabolic steroids. Testosterone is synthesized inside the testes along with a small amount in the adrenal glands as sex corticoids. Hypothalamus and pituitary gland in the brain control and regulate the production of testosterone.
