Introduction:

The prostate gland is a male accessory organ that constitutes about 20 to 30 percent of the volume of semen. It consists of citrate, which is required for the synthesis of ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) by sperm and also neutralizes the acidic environment created by the male and female secretions. With age, the prostate gland increases in size, this might tamper with the ability of the urinary bladder to completely excrete urine.
