The tube like neural tissue that starts from the brain’s base and extends downward to the body is the spinal cord. Spinal cord is a critical part of the central nervous system (CNS) thus enclosed in a bony armor known as vertebral column. This armor protects the spinal cord and provides the site for the attachment of the muscles.
