The African sleeping sickness is called the African trypanosomiasis. The disease is spread by the tsetse fly. The tsetse fly is the biological vector which plays an important role in the life cycle of the pathogen. The disease can be either chronic or acute. At the site of the bite, there is a development of a tender nodule.
