Chapter 25, Problem 4TYR
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The kidney is an important compound gland in our body. It contains millions of small units called nephrons which can act as functional excretory units. The lateral surface of the kidney is convex and the medial surface is concave. The medial surface contains slit, the hilum, which receives the renal nerves, blood vessels, lymphatics, and ureter.
There are three connective tissue layers that are involved in protecting the kidney. They are the fibrous renal fascia, the perirenal fat capsule, and the fibrous capsule.
