Chapter 25, Problem 27CONQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The effect on the mouse when both the p53 genesare defective and highly sensitive to UV(ultraviolet) rays.
Introduction:
P53 is a tumor suppressor gene. It is considered one of the classical type tumors and is the most common altered gene in human cancer. About 40-50% of all cancer is associated with a defect in the p53 gene, such as in the cancer of the liver, breast, lung, esophagus, brain along with sarcoma, leukemia, and lymphoma.
