Concept explainers
Interpretation:
Interpret the reason for considering experiment of synthesis of genome as ‘life recreated’.
Concept Introduction:
Gene is basic unit of heredity and these genes are made of DNA. Heredity is the transmission of characters or traits from parent cell to progeny or daughter cell either through sexual or asexual reproduction. This results in passing of character to offspring.
Humans having 35000 genes which comes in pair and they are made of or consists of DNA strands. Couple of genes arranges to produce alleles which are responsible of color of eyes or hair etc. Sometime change in the arrangement of genes or it deletion may results in mutation which may result in diseases.

Which base would be depleted first in the replication process?arrow_forward25-7 What are the differences between DNA and RNA?arrow_forward

If a segment of DNA were completely random, how many nucleotides long would it need to be in order to have one possible sequence for each person on Earth (currently about 7.5 billion people)?arrow_forward
- Suppose that 28% of the nucleotides in a DNA molecule are deoxythymidine 5'-monophosphate, and that during DNA replication the percentage amounts of available nucleotide bases art 22% A, 22% C, 28% G. and 28% T. Which base would be depleted first in the replication process?arrow_forwardIf a codon consists of two nucleotides, how many codons would be possible? Would this be a workable code for the purpose of protein synthesis?arrow_forwardKynamro has the hydrogen bonding sequence: GCCUCAGTCTGCTTCGCACC.
