Introduction:

The collecting duct, a part of the renal tubule is a straight tubule that passes down into the medulla. The cortical part of the collecting duct receives fluid from the distal convoluted tubules of several nephrons. The nephron loop also known as the loop of Henle is a long U-shaped part of the renal tubule found mostly in the medulla.
