Explanation of Solution

Features of machining centers:-

1. Machining centers are skilled of controlling extensive variety of parts size and shapes proficiently, cost effectively and with most dimensional correctness.

2. The time needed for loading and unloading work piece, shifting tool, gauging of the part and troubleshooting is restricted. So output is enhanced and lessening the cost.

3. For the identification of tool breakage, these machines are prepared with tool condition monitoring devices and wear as probes for tool wear compensation also for tool positioning.

Versatility of machining centers: -

1. These machines are multipurpose and rapid from the one kind of product to another.

2. These machines are comparatively compacted and extremely automated and have advance control system to restrict the cost for the labor.

3. Machining centers are existing in a vast variety of features and sizes. Generally, capacities range up to 75 kW (100 hp). Extreme spindle speeds are normally in the range from 4000 to 8000 rpm, and some are as high as 75,000 rpm for exceptional applications, with the help of small-diameter cutters.
