Introduction:
The myelin is an insulating layer or sheath, formed around nerves in the brain and spinal cord and is made up of protein and fatty substances. The myelin sheath is wrapped around the nerve axon in a spiral form. The myelin membranes begin from and are a part of the Schwann cells present in the peripheral nervous system.
