Introduction:

Bacterial vaginosis is a common medical condition which occurs in the vagina of women due to excessive growth of facultative or obligate anaerobic bacteria in the vaginal area. These bacteria infect the warm, moist vaginal area that leads to bacterial vaginosis. The bacterial infection is not characterized by inflammation; therefore, the disease is vaginosis.
