Six primary functions of the digestive system.

Introduction:

The raw food that we eat cannot be used by our body. The reason for it is that it cannot pass through the intestinal walls where the absorption of food and its transportation into the blood to muscle and liver cells cannot be facilitated. So first it has to be broken down into simpler form otherwise it is useless for the body. By our digestive system the food is broken down chemically and mechanically for the purpose of digestion.
