Figure 2.14a is a diagram of a multiflash image of an air puck moving to the right on a horizontal surface. The images sketched are separated by equal time intervals, and the first and last images show the puck al rest. (a) In Figure 2.14b, which color graph best shorn the puck’s position as a function of time? (b) In Figure 2.14c, which color graph best shows the puck’s velocity as a function of time? (c) In Figure 2.l4d, which color graph best shows the puck's acceleration as a function of time?
Figure 2.14 (Quick Quiz 2.5) Choose the correct graphs.

- An object is released from rest at a height of h. During the final second of its fall, it traverses a distance of 38m. Determine h. I would like to know the solution but also maybe an explanation on how I would know what process to take. For the last second, I was able to find that final vf = 38m/s. That is vf = deltax/deltat, or 38m/1s. I plugged it in to vf2 = vo2 + 2a(deltax), since I think that vf shouldn't change for h, but I got the wrong answer. Box your answer eith 4 significant figures.arrow_forwardWhile vacationing in the mountains you do some hiking. In the morning, your displacement is S morning =(2000 m, east) +(3000 m, north) + (200 m, vertical). After lunch, your displacement is S afternoon = (1500 m,west) + (2000 m, north) - (300 m, vertical). a. At the end of the hike, how much higher or lower are youcompared to your starting point? b. In one scene, he climbs up to the top of a tower and, in frustration over the people who ridicule his theories, throws a rock at a group of them standing on the ground. The rock leaves his hand at 30 degrees from the horizontal. The script calls forthe rock to land 15 m from the base of the tower near a group of his detractors. It isimportant for the script that the rock takes precisely 3.0 seconds to hit the ground sothat there is time for a good expressive close-up. The set coordinator is concerned thatthe rock will hit the ground with too much speed, causing cement chips from the plazato injure on of the high priced actors. You are told to calculate that speed.arrow_forward
