Interpretation: The two βketo esters that are formed in the Dieckmann reaction of the given diester are to be identified.

Concept Introduction: Dieckmann condensation reaction is an intramolecular condensation reaction in diester. In Dieckmann condensation reaction, the base abstracts the acidic proton from αcarbon atom of one ester group to form enolate. This enolate reacts with carbonyl group of other ester within the same compound that leads to the formation of a βketo ester.
