Introduction:
Gymnosperms are defined as the group of seed producing vascular plants that includes conifers, cycads, Ginkgo, pines and so on. The seeds produced are not enclosed in ovary. They carry specialized vascular tissues such as xylem and phloem for transportation of water and food.
