Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The WBCs (white blood cells) also known as leucocytes or leukocytes, refers to the cells of the immune system, which takes part in safeguarding the body against both the foreign invaders and the infectious disease. All the WBCs are obtained and generated from the multipotent cells in the bone marrow called hematopoietic stem cells. These cells are found all over the body, including the lymphatic system and the blood.

The white blood cells are further differentiated into the five main kinds, that is, the eosinophils, neutrophils, lymphocytes, basophils, and monocytes. These kinds are differentiated by their functional and physical features. Lymphocytes are found more usually in the lymphatic system in comparison to the blood. These primarily comprise of two kinds of cells, that is, the B cells and the T cells.
