Introduction:
Species proteome is much larger than the genome in a eukaryotic cell. In complex organisms, like a multicellular organism, only a subset of proteins out of the entire proteome of the species is produced. A type of protein that a cell makes depends on the stage of development a cell is undergoing and the type of cell. Functional proteomics identify and characterize the type of protein that a particular type of cell makes.
