Introduction: The larva evolves into cephalochordates called the lancelets. They are the first organisms to have head hence named “cephalo.” The cephalochordates are advanced than the urochordates and evolve into jawless fishes called the cyclostomes. The cyclostomes or the lampreys modify and evolve with passing time, to form modern fishes with the complete development of jaws.
