The most important mineral required for the proper functioning of the human body is potassium which helps in the sodium–potassium ion pump generating the nerve impulses. The sodium ion is also required in high amount but less than potassium ion. The chromium ion comes under the classification of ultra- trace mineral ion which is required rarely in the maintenance of the body.
