Chapter 23, Problem 2MC
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Digestion is the process by which the large food molecule is converted into the small water-soluble food particles. Generally, the digestion starts with the salivary enzyme. Saliva is an enzyme, which is secreted by the salivary glands. Salivary amylase is responsible for the digestion of the starch in the food and gastric juice, which is present in the stomach that digests the protein in the food.
