The components of the nervous system are located throughout the body. The brain is regarded as the central processing unit of the nervous system. The differences between the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system is given below:

    Central nervous system (CNS)Peripheral nervous system (PNS)
    It is composed of spinal cord and brain.

    Responsible for integrating and coordinating the information.
    It is the location of functions such as learning, memory, emotions, and intelligence.
    The damage to the CNS can affect all the body.
    It is composed of network of nerves present outside the brain and spinal cord.
    It is spread throughout the body.
    It is responsible for detecting the stimulus and link the CNS to the body.

    The damage to the PNS causes local damage.
Conclusion
