Concept introduction: Lymphocytes are the leukocytes that play a major role in the adaptive immune system. There are two types of lymphocytes, namely B lymphocyte (antibody-producing plasma cells and memory B cells that are involved in the humoral-mediated immune response) and T lymphocyte (Cytotoxic T cells, helper T cells, memory T cells that are involved in the cell-mediated immune response).
