Answer to Problem 1RQ

The visible spectrum’s colors are red, orange,yellow, green, violet,and blue_.

Explanation of Solution

An electromagnetic spectrum’s portion, which is visible to eye, is known as visible spectrum.

The visible spectrum contains the band of colors, which can be obtained by dispersing the white into the prism.

Dispersion is separation process of white color light into various six colors, which is shown in Figure 22.2.

Refer Figure 22.2 in the textbook for the visible spectrum is obtained in the white screen.

From Figure 22.2, the colors are presented in this spectrum are red, yellow, orange, green, violet, and blue.

Conclusion:

Hence, the visible spectrum’s colors are red, orange,yellow, green, violet,and blue_.

At point A, 3.20 m from a small source of sound that is emitting uniformly in all directions, the intensity level is 58.0 dB. What is the intensity of the sound at A? How far from the source must you go so that the intensity is one-fourth of what it was at A? How far must you go so that the sound level is one-fourth of what it was at A?
