Chelicerates and mandibulates are the sub phylum included under the phylum Arthropoda. The characteristic feature of this phylum is the presence of exoskeleton and joint paired appendages. Chelicerates contain grasping, claw like mouth parts called chelicerae. Mandibulates have chewing, jaw like mouthparts called mandibles.
