Summary Introduction

To review:

A mechanism by which Klebsiellapneumoniae become antibiotic resistant.

Introduction:

Klebsiellapneumoniae can cause many diseases, one of them is pneumonia. It is responsible for diseases of the lower respiratory tract. The Klebsiella-infected diseases are mostly hospitalborne. These bacteria can show multidrug resistance. They contain a plasmid-encodedbeta-lactamase that is responsible for the inactivation of the beta-lactam groups of antibiotics (majorly the penicillins).

The antibiotic susceptibility testing results of Staphylococcus showed zones of inhibition (absence of growth on zones) around discs of Penicilin, Teracycline, chloramphenicol, this means that  a) S. aueres is resistant to all these antibiotics. b) S. aueres is susceptible to all these antibiotics. c) susceptible to only a couple of them d) neither are the correct choices
Explain how the body (including cells, organs, organ systems) is affected by the bacterium called Neisseria meningitidis? Are there any long-term effects caused by the bacterium, even after recovery?
Identify  examples of cell-wall antibiotics that are not beta-lactam drugs.
