Whooping cough is a contagious bacterial disease. Pertussis is the common name for the disease “whooping cough” that is caused by Bordetella pertussis. The use of vaccines reduced the cases of the disease sharply. Primarily, the whole organism was used to make the vaccine, but due to several side effects of severe kind, this vaccine was barred from use.
