Calculation:
The mean point of the distribution is the balance point of the rectangle. Thus the mean is givenas follows:
For a symmetric distribution the median is the point, from which the area of the curve is equal on either side. Thus the median is given as follows:
Md = area lies to the left = area lies to the right
Md = 0.5
The mean and median of the uniform distribution is shown below.
Therefore both mean and median are equal to 0.5.
