There are many immune cells involved to protect our body from the pathogenic microbes or antigens. The immune cells have the ability to synthesize certain chemicals to neutralize and destroy an antigen. In certain cases, our immune system fails to attack or raises an immune response against an antigen or body’s own protein a condition called the self-tolerance. If our immune system raises an immune response against our own self-antigen that causes autoimmune diseases.
