Introduction:

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that is seasonal, which comes and goes. It is usually seen during winters and disappears during summer or spring. It is characterized by feeling depressed most of the day, feeling hopeless, losing interest in activities, sleeplessness, having low energy, feeling agitated, over-eating, weight gains, difficulty in concentrating, having craving for carbohydrates. It is predominantly seen in women as compared to men.
