Concept Information:
Radioactive fallout, Iodine-131 is used in targeting thyroid cancer, as the body absorbs all the iodine. Decay constant is the radioactive nuclide characteristic that gives the activity per nuclide. The number of atoms fractions that decay in one second is called decay constant. The time that is required to reduce a quantity to half of its initial value is called half-life.
