The male reproductive system includes the testes, which are the site for the sperm production. The testes are divided into two compartments: seminiferous tubules and interstitial tissue. The Sertoli cells are located in the seminiferous tubules and the cellular receptor proteins for follicle stimulating hormone are present in these cells.
