The difference between class 1 and class 2 MHC proteins.
Introduction:
The major histocompatibility complex, or MHC, is a set of surface proteins that are the main part of the acquired immune system. This protein binds to antigens and presents them to T cells. This protein complex plays a major role in determining the compatibility between the donor and the recipient during an organ transplant. Histocompatibility tests are essential prior to an organ donation to prevent organ rejection.
