The reason of the gamma
Answer to Problem 20STP
Gamma radiation having no mass or no charge so, this is not deflected by electrode.
Explanation of Solution
Gamma radiation are highly energy particle which are moving with the velocity of light due to this gamma radiation have high penetrating power. These particles have no charge, so it directly moves towards photographic plate and not deflected by the electrode.
Conclusion:
Both electrodes have negative and positive charge, but the radiations have no charge no charge which cause not deflection of it towards these electrodes.
