Introduction:

The cardiac cycle is one complete cycle of contraction and relaxation. This cycle shows the way that the structures of the heart work together for accurate blood circulation. There are different phases of the cardiac cycle which can be recorded as an electrocardiogram (ECG) using skin electrodes. It is the most common clinical method of evaluating heart function other than listening to the heart sounds with a stethoscope.
