Dr.S. had a discussion with E and her husband. The doctor told that Ms.E can take Donepezil (Aricept) which can be helpful to treat her early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. The doctor told after some few diagnostic tests this drug can be taken by Ms.E. After the doctor left Ms.E to enquire the nurse about “What will the drug Donepezil will do for him? Will the drug cure Alzheimer disease? What will the reply of the nurse?

Case summary:

A 72-year-old woman named Ms.E is married a 73-year-old man named Mr.G. Mr.G noticed an unusual behavior in Ms.E that she is forgetful in many things and she got lost while driving back from the grocery store. After this incidence, Mr. G makes an appointment with a primary care physician. The physician examined Ms.E thoroughly. The physician tells to Mr.G in private discussion that his wife is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease but yet it cannot be confirmed. She has to undergo some tests to fix this doubt. Mr. G is upset to hear this news when the doctor told her about it.
