This occurs by adjusting the CO (cardiac output). These 2 main factors modify the heart’s autorhythmicity. Any factor, which alters the spontaneous depolarization rate or the repolarization rate in the pacemaker cells, will alter the rate of the heart. When a heart beats, there are 2 types of muscle cells (cardiac) that are involved in the process that are: 1. Contractile cells: It produces contractions, which helps in propelling the blood. 2.
