The manner in which reimbursement is provided to the service providers has significantly changed by the ACA. The main reform includes shift from a fee for service system to another payment model such as capitation or bundled payments. The new payment model strives to provide reimbursement on the basis of better outcomes and values in comparison to volumes. It can be concluded that a significant impact has shown by ACA towards the payment made to the health care service providers. Due to ACA, the insurance coverage has been extended to more and more people and the new method of reimbursement to providers focus more on patient outcome and value rather than volume.
