Fortran design project:
In the year 1954, the design for FORTRAN was started. In November 1954, at IBM, John Backus with his team produced the design plans for the language titled "The IBM Mathematical FORmula TRANslating System, that is, FORTRAN". This was the first version of FORTRAN which is referred as FORTRAN 0.
FORTRAN is often credited with first complied high level language. FORTRAN 0 was developed with the following ambition:
