Introduction: The oxygen toxicity takes place as the oxidative stress produces the hydroxyl ions which are very reactive in nature. These ions begin a process of damaging of lipid peroxidation in the unsaturated lipids that are present within the cell membranes. The increased oxygen concentartion also generates free radicals like peroxynitrite, nitric oxide and trioxidane.
