A chemical substance is composed of matter which contains chemicals in definite proportion and has characteristic properties. It may be solid, liquid or gas. It is of two types organic and inorganic substances. Inorganic substances do not have carbon while organic substances have carbon, which forms bonds with oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen. Inorganic substances are electrolytes while organic substances are non-electrolytes.
