Concept explainers
Interpretation: The evaporation of seawater is given to form a mixture of ionic compounds containing sodium combined with chloride, sulfate, carbonate, bicarbonate, bromide, fluoride, tetrahydroborate and
Concept introduction: The sea water is reservoir of many ionic compounds. The ionic compounds are formed by fusion of oppositely charged cations and anions. The fundamental principle is that the positive charge on cation and negative charge on anions must balance the electrical neutrality to form the formulas of an ionic compound.
To determine: The formulas of compounds formed when sodium combines with given anions.
