Introduction: Oral contraceptives or birth control pills are used to prevent pregnancy. They contain forms of estrogen and/or progesterone hormone (natural or synthetic form). The mode of action of these contraceptives is usually to suppress the action of hormones involved in the normal ovulation process or blocking the entry of sperm by inducing cervical mucus to become thick and sticky.
