The reason for considering the modulus of elasticity as a structure-intensitive property needs be explained.

Concept introduction:

When a stress is placed on a material along any axis, the material has a tendency to resist deformation along the same axis. The measurement of the tendency is said to be the modulus of elasticity in that axis.
