Formula Used:

Write the expression for the average velocity of the ball during its complete journey.

  vavg=St   ..... (1)

Here, vavg is the average velocity of the ball, S is the total displacement of the ball and t is the time taken by the ball in round trip.

Calculation:

Since the ball moves up and returns back to the final point therefore, the displacement of the ball will be zero.

Substitute 0m for S in equation (1).

  vavg=0t=0m/s

Conclusion:

Thus, the average velocity of the ball will be zero during the round trip.
