To springs connected in series shown in Fig. P2.18 can be represented by a single equivalent spring. The stiffness of the equivalent spring is given by

$k_{eq}=\frac{k_1{k}_2}{k_1+k_2}$ Where $k_1$ and $k_2$, arc the spring Constant of the two springs If $k_{eq}=1.2$ N/m and $k_{eq}=2k_1-1$ N/m, find $k_1$ and $k_2$ as follows

(a) Substitute the values of $k_{eq}$ and $k_2$, in equation (2.64) and obtain the quadratic equation for $k_1$.

(b) Solve the quadratic equation for $k_1$, obtained in part (a) by completing the square, and the quadratic formula. Also, compute the corresponding value of $k_2$
